Why Do Your Parents Want You To Make Money? (Straightforward)

Recently I read from Paul Graham:

parents want you to focus on money because they share more in risk if you

fail than in benefits if you do well or something like that find it

and I've found the principle there sort of applies elsewhere. It's very easy

to get advice from people that makes sense to them because of the opposite:

they don't share in the risk but at least if you win they'll be happy. This

isn't a malicious thing, it's just something to consider when people give

you advice.

I've also found it helpful in talking to my parents and not just assuming

they don't understand me.
